Michael Lucas Invited to Speak at Stanford University

NEW YORK CITY — Michael Lucas, president and CEO of gay production company Lucas Entertainment , has been invited to speak at California’s Stanford University on Feb. 14. The event, which is entitled “An Evening with Michael Lucas,” will take place at the Cubberley Auditorium starting at 7 p.m.

Located between San Francisco and San Jose in the heart of Silicon Valley, Stanford University is recognized as one of the world’s leading research and teaching institutions. Stanford's current community of scholars includes 16 Nobel laureates, four Pulitzer Prize winners and 24 MacArthur Fellows.

Organized by the Associated Students of Stanford University (ASSU) Speakers Bureau , the event will include a lecture by Lucas, a Q&A session and a reception. Admission is on a first-come, first-served basis.

“The ASSU Speakers Bureau is thrilled to welcome Michael Lucas to Stanford University,” an ASSU spokesperson said. “We are excited to bring together Stanford's commitment for academic excellence with Mr. Lucas' cultural and social perspective.”

Lucas previously has spoken at Yale University, New York University and Rutgers, about topics as diverse as the adult industry, politics, safe sex, relationships and Israel.

“I appreciate that I am not limited to speak just about pornography when invited to Stanford or other universities,” Lucas said. “Porn is my main job, but there are other fields in which I became expert in and feel confident and comfortable talking about.”

The award-winning director started Lucas Entertainment in 1998 “with the intent of showcasing New York City’s wide diversity of types and ethnicities.”
